Blog Post: Portomarin to Santiago

Comment: One of the most important economic centers in Galicia, Santiago was a “European City of Culture” for the year 1998. The city’s Cathedral is the destination of the important 9th century medieval pilgrimage route, the Way of St. James and this is the finishing line of the route.

The Prazo do Obradoiro is the vocal point for all Camino pilgrims and the whole ancient centre of the beautiful city is a joy to wander around. There is so much to see and visit that a single night’s stay is really insufficient.
