Sardinia 2026 – Update – Alghero to Olbia

Welcome to our third and final update from the lads in Sardinia.

Day 5 – Thursday 11th June

An update from Coxy:-

“Thursday was a rest day for the lads as they’re all feeling tired after 30 miles of headwind yesterday, so I went out on my own with John & Dabsy supporting me in the van.

The road up to Villanova Monteleone from Alghero is a cyclist’s dream of a ride. The cool sea breeze helped me along with hardly any traffic to bother me and I was soon at the top of the 16-mile climb with fantastic views of the coastline all the way up.

I managed to get to the small town of Villanova Monteleone before John & Dabsy, who gave me a decent head start. We sat for a while at a cafe before turning around and riding back down to the hotel. It was an epic descent, and I was soon back at base.

Tomorrow is the big one, a 90-mile ride along the coast to Santa Theresa, but the lads are well rested, so it should be a breeze ??

Day 6 – Friday 12th June

Alghero to Santa Teresa, 90 miles.

From Paul:- “It was a long one today, but not too hot along the coast, thankfully.  Ade, Spena, Marty, and I stayed together for the first 60 miles, then I had a bit of fun on the last leg. Johnny G rode two-thirds of the day, so he’ll be thirsty tonight ???

Day 7 – Saturday 13th June

A final word from Paul: “The lads knocked off the last leg today without any issues. Turned out to be a cracking ride along a beautiful stretch of the coast with a few lumps to deal with.

All made it to Olbia in good time, bikes are packed and the hotel pool is the next meet ?

SO IT’S WELL DONE TO EVERYONE!! ANOTHER FANTASTIC RIDE COMPLETED!!

It has looked like a fantastic trip, from start to finish, and I feel like I was there with them, thanks to the great photos and write-ups from Paul!
